The Dance Department of the Faculty of Performing Arts (FSP) of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta has once again shown its capabilities internationally through its participation in the event 4th International Conference on Art and Culture for Sustainable Development (ICASD)<\/strong> organized by Mahasarakham University, Thailand. This event took place on April 2\u20133, 2026<\/strong> Under the theme of \u201cArt and Culture: Redefining Creation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This international conference and festival is organized by Mahasarakham University, Faculty of Applied Arts and Cultural Sciences<\/strong> as a form of commitment in building sustainable global collaboration spaces in the arts and culture. This year, there are seven countries<\/strong> who participated, namely Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, India, China, and Vietnam<\/strong>, each sending a delegation to participate in a series of dance conferences and festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a conference session that took place April 2, 2026<\/strong>, the Dance Department of ISI Yogyakarta, represented by Ms. Heni Winahyuningsih<\/strong>, which presents the results of a brief observation and research regarding The utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in the preservation and development of traditional arts in Yogyakarta<\/strong>. This presentation makes an important contribution to the discussion regarding the role of technology in preserving cultural heritage in the digital era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, at International Dance Festival<\/strong> held on April 3, 2026<\/strong>, the Indonesian delegation presented two dance repertoires, namely Oleg the Butterfly Dance<\/strong> that is brought by Ni Made Mia Subandriani<\/strong> with Oky Bima Reza Afrita<\/strong>, alumni of the Dance Department who is now a lecturer at Chulalongkorn University. In addition, it will also feature Menak Rengganis Widaninggar Dance<\/strong> that is brought by Ms. Heni Winahyuningsih<\/strong> with Agatha Irena<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participation of the Dance Department of FSP ISI Yogyakarta in this international forum is a tangible testament to the institution's commitment to expanding global cooperation networks and introducing the richness of Indonesian dance to the world stage. The presence of the ISI Yogyakarta delegation is expected to further strengthen the position of Indonesian performing arts as an important part of sustainable global cultural development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
