
Yogyakarta, August 20-21, 2025 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, organized Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) 2025 for two days at the institute, faculty, and department levels. This year, the Dance Department recorded the highest number of applicants among other study programs in the Faculty of Performing Arts, namely 432 people, with 78 new students officially accepted to attend lectures in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year which will start on August 25, 2025.
In his speech, Dr. Rina Martiara, M.Hum., Chairperson of the Dance Department, conveyed a message to new students who came from various regions in Indonesia-from Sumatra, Java, Bali, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, NTB, to NTT-to be students who are “cool, great, and accomplished.”
Meanwhile, Dindin Heryadi, M.Sn., as the Advisor of HMJ Dance as well as Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Performing Arts, emphasized the importance of class togetherness. In his speech, he advised the new students to be able to maintain cohesiveness, support each other, and help each other. He also hoped, “In four years we can meet again with the same pride: wearing a toga and graduating together.”
This year's PKKMB is the initial momentum of the new Dance Department students' journey in pursuing performing arts education, as well as fostering a spirit of togetherness, achievement, and dedication in the academic world and art practice.
