
ISI student wins 4th place in preserving the art of Reog Ponorogo 2025
Ponorogo, July 2025 - Lesdian Meisaroh (NIM 2212059011), a student of Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI), won 4th place in the Reog Ponorogo Art Preservation event organized by the Ponorogo Regency Cultural Office in a series of annual Grebeg Suro 2025 events. This competition is one of the local government's efforts to maintain the existence of Reog Ponorogo as Indonesia's intangible cultural heritage. Lesdian performed proudly by presenting a work that promotes traditional values and artistic sensitivity in maintaining the art of Reog authentically.

With the achievement as the official representative of the Region V Pilmapres, ISI Yogyakarta students also showed that artistic creativity and academic intellect can go hand in hand. 3rd place in National Dance Competition "Self-Inspiration"
From simple intentions to the grand national stage. The journey is clear evidence that dreams fought for together will find their way. Through a dance work with a song of self-inspiration, the cecakal group from the Department of Dance, Faculty of Performing Arts, ISI Yogyakarta won 3rd National Champion in the National Dance Competition "Inspirasi Diri". The competition was organized by iForte, a subsidiary of PT Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Protelindo).

2nd place in the Rampak Category of LTKN National Level
Starting from the City, District to Provincial selection process, the Committee has selected participants to be able to take part in the National Creation Dance Competition held by Realart Offcial at the Miss Tji-Tjih Arts Building, Central Jakarta on December 14-15, 2024. ISI Yogyakarta students, Faculty of Performing Arts, Dance Department can win 2nd place in the rampak category of the National Level Nusantara Creation Dance Competition.

Silver Prize Andong Mask Dance Festival Korea
Andong Mask Dance Festival is South Korea's most anticipated annual cultural festival, held in Hahoe Village, Andong. The event is held on October 3-5, 2024 and the More than 25 countries participated in this series of events. The dance performed was entitled HNHIKOH PAMANG PATUTN by Nur Istikomah majoring in dance class of 2017.

2nd place in National Student Art Week
The National Student Art Week is a prestigious competition organized by the National Achievement Center. Students of the Department of Dance, Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta have managed to get 2nd place in this event.

ISI student wins gold at National Flag Guard Individual Competition
Denpasar, July 6, 2025 - Nayla Fadilah Sheril Viviani, a student of the Indonesian Institute of Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta with NIM 2412566011, made a proud achievement in the Individual Guard Flag event of the Senior Division of Langgam Indonesia held on July 4-6, 2025 in Denpasar, Bali. Nayla represented ISI's Saraswati Drumcorps UKM and won a gold medal after performing a stunning performance in the individual category. Her success is a clear proof of the dedication and perseverance of art students in honing their skills in the field of color guard.
Student Achievements in the Dance Department at the Djarum Scholarship Regional Essay Contest
Jerry Bayu Mawardi, a student of the Dance Study Program at the Faculty of Performing Arts, ISI Yogyakarta, achieved a prestasi in the Djarum Scholarship 2026 Essay Contest, a mandatory competition for recipients of the Djarum Plus Scholarship Batch 2025/2026. This activity aims to develop critical thinking, research, and idea writing skills.
Out of approximately 134 participants in the Beswan Djarum Regional Semarang, only the top 10 participants advanced to the regional round held on May 30, 2026, at RSO Semarang. In this stage, participants presented their essays and participated in a Q&A session with the judges.
Through a competitive selection process, students from the Dance Program at ISI Yogyakarta successfully achieved top 10 regional rankings, placing 6th–10th. This achievement demonstrates that art students are capable of excelling not only in artistic fields but also in academic ability, critical thinking, and the delivery of innovative ideas.
International Summer School Program 2026: Thai Art, Culture, and Contemporary Creative Exchange
Students from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta will participate in the International Summer School Program 2026: Thai Art, Culture and Contemporary Creative Exchange, organized by Silpakorn University, Thailand, from May 4-10, 2026. This international program will be attended by participants from Thailand, Indonesia, China, and Vietnam, serving as a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and cultural art creativity among nations.
Students from ISI Yogyakarta, including Cantik Gemilang Kasih Purba, Vidiajeng Maretha, Sefina Triadinda Veronica, Nathania, and Naura, introduced Indonesian culture through presentations and workshops on Pendet Dance from Bali and Tortor Dance from North Sumatra. The performances were met with great enthusiasm from international participants, who also learned the movements and cultural values of both dances. Additionally, participants joined a cultural study visit and a printmaking workshop with students from various countries.
At the closing ceremony and final exhibition, Indonesian students once again performed the Pendet Dance and Tortor Dance as a representation of Nusantara culture in an international forum. The participation of ISI Yogyakarta students in this program is a form of contribution in introducing Indonesian art and culture globally, as well as expanding international cooperation networks in the field of art and culture.
Experience Participating in The 2024 Art Camp ‘Art in Motion’ in South Korea
Dance major student, Venawa Vania, participated in The 2024 Art Camp “Art in Motion,” organized by the International Dance Organization of Korea at Chungcheong University, South Korea, in January 2024. This international program was attended by participants from various countries such as South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Mongolia, China, India, and Malaysia, serving as a platform for cultural exchange and the development of performing arts.
In the event, Venawa Vania presented a folklore dance piece that highlighted the richness of Yogyakarta's local traditions and cultural identity. The performance received positive appreciation from participants and international judges. In addition to the dance performance, participants also attended workshops, discussions, and collaboration sessions to broaden their insights into dance techniques, choreography, and cultures from various countries.
For her performance and contributions throughout the program, Venawa Vania successfully earned a gold award. This achievement is a testament to the fact that students from the Dance Department can excel at the international level while simultaneously introducing Indonesian culture on a global stage.
