Three works by ISI Yogyakarta Dance Department lecturers win gold medal at international event

Yogyakarta - Another proud achievement was made by lecturers of the Dance Department, Faculty of Performing Arts, ISI Yogyakarta in the international event of art innovation. Three choreographic works that were carried won awards Gold Medal, It marks the art college's active contribution to the development of creativity and artistic research at a global level.

The work titled Sinous Movement Serenade which is worked on by Dra. Setyastuti, M.Sn. with Dindin Heryadi, M.Sn. is one of the featured works with a visual and movement approach that combines contemporary aesthetics and body narrative. Meanwhile, Dr. Y. Adityanto Aji managed to raise the philosophy of natural elements in his work entitled Panca Mahabuta. The third work that also won the Gold Medal award was Raksa Bhumi, the result of collaboration between Ni Kadek Rai Dewi A, M.Sn., Dr. I Nyoman Cau A, M.Sn., and Agustin Anggraeni, S.S., which explores the theme of earth conservation through body language and ethnic music.

This achievement shows the strong commitment of the ISI Yogyakarta Dance Department in encouraging performing arts innovations that are rooted in tradition, but are able to creatively respond to aesthetic challenges and global issues. This achievement is also clear evidence of the lecturers' work in cross-disciplinary research and collaboration that has a broad impact on the development of art in Indonesia.

One of the best lecturers, Mrs. Galih Prakasiswi, B.F.A., M.A., successfully selected as a recipient Nusantara Art Innovation Program 2026, a prestigious event that supports the development of innovative artworks based on Indonesia's cultural heritage.
