Studio 2 of the ISI Yogyakarta Dance Department shook with the beat of the Rantak dance by 30 (thirty) workshop participants, namely students majoring in Dance and Performing Arts Education (PSP) ISI Yogyakarta. This dance welcomed the arrival of the Italian Embassy Jakarta and Astra Roma Ballet on September 24, 2022 at 09.00.
Astra Roma Ballet is a dance company founded by Diana Ferrera in Italy. The morning workshop consisted of two sessions. The first session of the workshop was filled by Diana Ferrera about the basic movements and techniques of Ballet dance.
The workshop instructor for the second session was Giada Primiano (choreographer of the first work). This session tended to emphasize exploration and improvisation. Giada invited the workshop participants to move according to the energy. Giada also introduced excerpts from the two works that were performed in the evening. The workshop participants seemed enthusiastic in following the whole series of workshops because the atmosphere was built in a relaxed and fun way. As the music tempo got faster, all ARB dancers and workshop participants formed a circle with footwork that also got faster. The workshop ended with cheers and applause.
