Students of the Dance Study Program, Faculty of Performing Arts, ISI Yogyakarta, once again achieved proud achievements through the event Djarum Scholarship 2026 Essay Contest. This competition is a mandatory program that all recipients must participate in Djarum Plus Scholarship Batch 2025/2026 as a platform for developing critical thinking skills, research, and idea writing.
The Essay Contest is held in three selection stages: essay selection, regional rounds, and national rounds. In the initial stage, all participants will write and submit an essay based on the theme determined by the organizer. Out of approximately 134 Djarum Beswan Regional Semarang participants who entered the selection, only the 10 best participants are eligible to advance to the regional round.
The regional round will be held on May 30, 2026, at the Orthopedic Hospital (RSO) in Semarang. In this stage, finalists will present their ideas, which have been written in essays, and participate in a question-and-answer session with the jury. The competition will be rigorous, with assessments covering the quality of ideas, analytical skills, presentation skills, and participant argumentation.
Through the competitive selection process, one student from the Dance Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta successfully secured a position Top 10 regional, precisely at ranks 6–10. This achievement is proof that art students are not only excellent in the fields of artistic practice and creativity but are also capable of demonstrating academic abilities, critical thinking, and conveying innovative ideas at the regional level.
This achievement is expected to be a motivation for other students to continue developing their potential, both in the fields of art and academics, as well as actively participating in various competitions that can broaden horizons and enhance the leadership capacity of the younger generation.
