Become a Humor Dancer

Become a Humor Dancer

By: Daruni

Not only young people or students, but even adults often need inspirational figures to solidify their dreams, professions, or life choices. This figure is usually someone who is excellent, successful, special, extraordinary, and has all the advantages and greatness recognized by the wider community.

Didik Hadiprayitno, often called Didik Nini Thowok is a special figure. His ability to turn “weakness” into “strength”, his determination to live and prosper by dancing, his perseverance, and his intelligence to overcome challenge after challenge until he is recognized as a legendary great dancer, deserve to be taught in that line of inspirational figures. One can learn from Didik Nini Thowok, a humorous dancer who also makes crossgender her specialty. The strong feminine side in his male nature is no longer a subject of ridicule, but a valuable asset to work and invite the admiration of his audience.

This book is designed to motivate young people in particular, and the wider community in general, to dare to pursue the arts, especially dance, as a living profession. More than that, the struggle to turn “weakness” into “strength”, and “criticism” into “praise” and even admiration is also presented.

Hopefully more and more young people, especially those with gender issues, can learn and be inspired by Didik Nini Thowok, more and more dance artists will be convinced that they too can make a living from their profession.
