International activities provide a space for students to develop their artistic capacity while also expanding their global network. One such experience comes through participation in The 2024 Art Camp ‘Art in Motion’ organized by the International Dance Organization of Korea. This activity took place in January 2024 and was held at Chungcheong University, South Korea. This program serves as a platform for cultural exchange as well as the development of performing arts abilities, especially dance.
Activity The 2024 Art Camp ‘Art in Motion’ followed by participants from various countries. A number of countries that participated include South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Mongolia, China, India, and Malaysia. The presence of participants from various countries, as well as the interactions that took place, made this event a space for exchanging experiences and dialoguing about the cultures brought by each.
One of the students from the Dance Department, Venawa Vania, participated in the event as a representative of Indonesia. In the performance of this program, Venawa presented a dance work in the genre Folklore which raises the richness of Yogyakarta's local traditions and cultural identity. This choice was made as an effort to introduce the cultural richness possessed through movement and dance expression. In this performance, Venawa successfully attracted the attention of judges and participants from various countries, and received good appreciation for the quality and presentation of their dance.

Besides showcasing dances from each country, the activity Art in Motion Art Camp‘ also presents various supporting activities such as workshops, discussions, and collaboration sessions among participants. In this activity, participants have the opportunity to exchange knowledge about dance techniques, choreographic approaches, and the cultural perspectives of each country. This interaction becomes a valuable experience in building global insight while enriching the artistic practice of the participants.
For Venawa, participating in this program was not only a platform to showcase her abilities but also an intensive learning process. She was able to observe various international dance styles, understand different approaches to creating works, and build relationships with young artists from various countries. This experience has become an important asset in her self-development as an adaptive dance artist open to diversity.
The peak of Venawa's participation in this activity was marked by a dance performance and the awarding of a gold medal for their performance and contributions throughout the program. This award is not only an appreciation of the artistic quality displayed but also a source of pride for the Dance Department. This achievement also demonstrates that students are capable of competing and achieving success in international forums.
Participation in The 2024 Art Camp ‘Art in Motion’ in South Korea serves as proof that international platforms can be utilized as a means of developing students' potential, both artistically and academically. Through activities like this, students not only bring their national cultural identity to a global level but also enrich their perspectives and experiences, which will impact their future artistic practices. Venawa's participation in this activity is expected to inspire other students. Support from departments and institutions is a crucial factor in fostering students who are not only academically excellent but also possess global insight and high cultural sensitivity.
